Volunteer in San Juan Comalapa, Guatemala
Volunteer Application

Volunteering opportunities are continually opening up in Comalapa right now and almost any talent is helpful. Can you fix an engine? Can you lay concrete? Can you speak a little Spanish? Are you a persuasive writer? Do you know how to manage a garden? Maybe you have a proclivity for playing games and horsing around?
Long Way Home has created a Volunteer Manual that provides in-depth information about the volunteer program including accomodations, travel, food, and costs.

Long Way Home also offers two other program catering specifically to students seeking course credit or organizations, churches, or schools seeking to bring a group to Guatemala.
Internship Program
Volunteer Group Program
The project site has a tree and plant nursery, 6 terraces for organic gardens, a soccer field, a playground, a community kitchen, a botanical garden, and a protected wooded area. Space is also available to build a basketball court and start a small animal's project. Long Way Home is looking for volunteers to start these projects and help maintain and improve all existing projects.
If you are interested in coming down and working in one of these capacities, click here to apply or contact us and we can walk you through all the steps. Visit our internship program pages if you are interested in getting course credit. Notice that while some of the requirements for the internship are the same as that for volunteer positions, some are also different.
