Program Costs
Long Way Home currently does not require any fees or tuitions to take part in our program. However, all volunteers and interns are strongly encouraged to make a donation to help us off-set the cost of your visit—things like housing, laundry, cleaning, bedding. You would be surprised at how expensive it can be to have guests down here when you are investing all your resources into actual development projects.
However, Long Way Home does pride itself on providing an extremely cost-effective volunteer experience. There are two reasons for this. For one, we feel that volunteers and interns contribute just by showing up, and we value the opportunity to work with different people who bring different skills sets to our organization and projects. But even more so, we like to think that our internship training program provides a valuable classroom for teaching others in non-profit management and hope that our volunteers will learn through our program how to be leaders in the field of development work.
