Applications and Documentation
There are three pieces cot the application process: the volunteer application, the volunteer manual, and the Group application for large groups. This page contains all documentation you will need to apply to Long Way Home for our volunteer, internship, or group volunteer program.
Apply Now Online!
You can now apply online! Visit our online application for individual applicants or online application for group organizers. Upon reviewing your application we will get back to you soon about setting up your visit.
Click here if you have already filled out an application and would like to make a donation to secure your spot.
Volunteer Packet (Volunteer Manual, Paper Applications, Release Forms)
Click here to download the Volunteer Packet which contains all volunteer and intern manuals, paper applications (if you prefer not to apply online), and releases necessary for you to begin your volunteer experience with Long Way Home in Guatemala. It is a .zip file, so if you have trouble, contact our volunteer coordinator, who can email you a copy of it directly.
All volunteers and interns are required to sign and return a copy of our release of liability form. This cannot be filled out online but must be printed, signed, and mailed to the address on the form. This is for your protection so that you are aware of the dangers of being on site, as well as for our own protection. Long Way Home is a very small organization; what limited assets we do have goes to our programs and projects.
Deposit & Program Costs
Click here to make a donation to reserve your place.
Long Way Home recommends all participants submit a $50 deposit to secure their spot. The deposit is suggested upon receipt of you application. Full payment is expected 30 days prior to arrival. Refunds of the volunteer fee (minus the deposit) are provided up to one week prior to your arrival. After that, we will provide a refund if we can fill your space. Special consideration will be given to emergency situations, but please understand the Long Way Home relies on its volunteer and intern fees to pay for the associated costs of your visit, many of which must be paid for (by us) in advance.
Please visit our program fees & costs page to see how you secure your spot in our volunteer program.
