Local Artwork and Textiles

As part of our committment to improving the community, Long Way Home provides a conduit for local artisans to offer their art work to the world.

Through our website, visitors can purchase textiles, clothing, jewelry, and paintings by renowned Guatemala artists. Of special interest are the works of local artists Fernando Poyon and Doña Paula Nicho Cumez, sold exclusively through our website.

LWH's work with local artist serves two purposes: it helps introduce local artists to international markets where burgeoning interests in Guatemalan artwork can find an outlet; it also provides a forum in which merchants and distributors who are unfamiliar with native Gautemalan art can "taste" the flavors and beautiful colors associated with the Mayan culture while they consider whether they might provide a good fit in their stores.

However, anyone can purchase local artwork from San Juan Comalapa, and Long Way Home takes pride in the fact that it has brought several loads of paintings, clothing and textiles to the United States to sell in order to support local artists and fund projects in and around the region.

Please contact Long Way Home if you have any interest in purchasing either individual pieces or a larger order for your store. Click here to see more pictures of what Comalapa has to offer.
