Multicultural Association of Southern Oregon

What is the Multicultural Association of Southern Oregon (MCA)?
The MCA is a volunteer, non-political, not for profit organization consisting of individuals, cultural groups and businesses. The mission of the association is to serve as a catalyst in the community, promoting understand and appreciation between cultures, by creating cross-cultural educational events where people of all backgrounds can interact with out fear. One purpose is to reduce racism and other forms of discrimination. We recently opened the Multicultural Center located One East Main Street, Medford. (Vibes Building). The MCA is supported through contributions, memberships, fund-raising and grants.

What type of activities do you do?
The MCA sponsors a Multicultural Kids Camp through out the summer and a five-day Multicultural Overnight Camp. Currently Day Camps are being held every Wednesday the end of August at the Vibes Building at One East Main Street. Diversity Days are scheduled at different locations of the Boys and Girls Clubs of the Rogue Valley and Kids Unlimited.
Cost: $7.00 a Day
Sites: Talent, White City, Gold Hill, Medford, and Grants Pass.

The Overnight Camp is being held at Low Echo Girls Scout Camp at Lake of the Woods on August 20th through the 24th. The MCA with the help of the Southern Oregon Indian Center will lead middle school aged youth in an introspective look of the world through the eyes of another culture. There will be lots of fun as campers experience and learn about diversity.
Cost: $150.00

Multicultural Fair
The Eight Annual Multicultural Fair will be Saturday, September 29th at Alba Park (across from the Medford Post Office). There will be plenty of good food, music, dancing and fun for the entire day. The Kid's Corner has face painting, many games and activities for all ages. Everybody is welcomed! Admission is free!How can I volunteer or receive additional information about the MCA or the events?
