Alternative Construction - Bottle Building

LWH found out about using trash bottles in construction from an organization called Pura Vida in 2007. www.puravidaatitlan.org What we have learned from their model we are applying in our own recycling efforts in San Juan Comalapa. At Parque Chimiya we charge 1 trash bottle for entrance or 1$. On average Parque Chimiya receives 150 trash bottles from local schools and businesses. We are hoping to collect about 100,000 bottles for use in the construction of our vocational school. Please see our photos to see how we are cleaning up the streets, the rivers, and the air.
