Long Way Home is always looking for skilled candidates to help at home or abroad. In filling on-site positions, we need applicants with adept language skills or language acquisition skills, construction, building planning, or engineering skills. For administrative positions outside of Comalapa, we seek candidates with experience in grant-writing, government lobbying, non-profit administration, marketing, website management and fund-raising.
Current Positions for Immediate Hire
Grant Writer: LWH is currently looking for an experienced grant writer to work as a contract employee. Compensation will be based on the success of the grant writing process. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to add to his or her resume.
Marketing Director: The time has come to promote our park locally and to promote our sustainable development model and internship program internationally. Looking for someone with experience in advertising, marketing or volunteer recruitment.
Geologist: Ideal candidate would be someone looking to travel in Central America. Specifically, we need a geologist to visit villages near Comalapa to look for water sources. Experience in rural land natural resource management would be helpful, not to mention a keen sense of adventure.
Project Manager: Seeking manager for Parque Chimiyá in Comalapa, Guatemala. Fluency in Spanish is mandatory. Park Manager will oversee work of international volunteers and coordinate educational and recreational programs with local schools. This is a paid position.
Web Designer: Seeking Web Designer to manage and continuously update the LWH website. Must be able to create the following: Flickr account, YouTube video sharing site, Facebook and Myspace accounts, and subdomain for Spanish speakers. Also needed to install link icons to social networks, create Google Alert, create LWH blog, and other duties as needed.
