History & Other Background Information

• Won 2nd place in the Juan Bautista Gutierrez Foundation project competition on August 19, 2009
• Started our collaboration with Chuwi Tinamit and Escuela Tecnico Maya in March 2005
• Arrived in San Juan Comalapa, Guatemala on Feb 1st 2005 and started project Parque Chimiya.
• Received 501(c)(3) non profit status from the IRS and incorporated in Oregon in September 2004.
• First Board of Directors meeting held in NY in June 2004 and the LWH Bylaws and Articles of Incorporation adopted
