Long Way Home is constantly working to provide a valuable
service in a variety of areas around the world. And we are always interested
in new projects and ideas and people who would like to help in our mission.
But in order to fulfill our commitments to this mission, Long Way Home
offers several levels of giving. For instance, your
donation could buy plants for the nursery in Comalapa, a sustainable project that actually feeds locals nad provides them commodities to market.
Just see what donors like you you have already done: your donations helped us turn this field into a basketball court for the children of Comalapa in Fall 2007!
Not everyone has time to venture into the third world to
work on a project, but even just a little bit of money goes a lot farther
than you would think. One dollar in the United States is can be stretched
to to purchase ten dollars worth of construction materials in Guatemala.
So even just giving $5 is much appreciated and will be put to a good use.
Through our affiliation with Paypal you can give directly from your bank
account or you can donate with a credit card.
Just think, the cost of your
coffee and breakfast tomorrow morning could
provide shoes for a child in Guatemala.
Or, if you have in mind a particular use for your donation,
we offer you the opportunity to direct your contribution to a particular
purchase. For the current project in Comalapa,
you can buy uniforms for a team in the soccer league, desks for the school,
plants for the permaculture nursery, a basketball goal and net for the
new court, or any number of other things. If you would like to donate
to a specific project or to the purchase of a specific product, contact
us to specify any stipulations related to your gift. Site managers can
even send you a picture of your money being put to work.
